PVARC Saw Weekend Of Fun And Fellowship

The Pecos Valley Amateur Radio Club wound up their fund raising raffle event by setting up at Roswell Main Street's First Friday event. The club raised some funds by selling raffle tickets for a gas grill at the Main Street event which gives shoppers and visitors the opportunity to enjoy live music, ministry and shopping along the downtown portion of Main Street as many businesses stay open late during the monthly occurrence. PVARC club members Dan Musgrave, Gerald Cox and Jim Tucker manned their table just south of Fourth Street as they talked to many passers by about ham radio.

The trio also promoted the next day's fox hunt which took place in Cahoon Park. Many hams came out to enjoy a nice Spring morning where temperatures ranged from about 70 to 78 degrees by 10:00 when the drawing was held as the event's finale.

Fox hunters used their direction finding skills and equipment to track and locate low powered hidden transmitters.

The event wrapped up with the raffle drawing. Congratulations to Ryan Roberts for winning the first prize of a four burner gas grill. The second place prize went to Anna Gomez. Anna will get her choice of $75.00 cash or a Visa gift card.
