Beloved, Long Time Member of PVARC Goes Silent Key

PVARC member Phyllis Sherwood, (KE5TYI), went Silent Key on Saturday morning, October the 19th, 2019. Phyllis had been a member of the Pecos Valley Amateur Radio Club for many years as well as a regular Net Controller on the Yucca Two Meter Net. Phyllis, along with her husband Gene, (KE5SYS), was always eager to serve the amateur radio community and the PVARC by helping with races, Field Days and other events and activities.

Attendees of Saturday morning meetings at the radio club headquarters could always depend on fresh coffee and doughnut holes awaiting their arrival thanks to Phyllis. In addition to serving as NCS for the Yucca Two Meter Net, Phyllis also ran an HF station and enjoyed communicating by packet radio.

Memorial service for Phyllis will be held Sunday October 27th at 9:30 AM at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church located at 101 S. Lea St. in Roswell.
