PVARC Holds First Zoom Meeting

April 5, 2020

Today was the PVARC's first on-line business meeting prompted by the Governor's Stay At Home order in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The club successfully used Zoom to allow attendees to exchange verbal ideas and responses while being able to see each other.  Prior to the meeting's start, Kelly Kieth, KF5ZNJ, drew the winning ticket for the club's annual raffle.  The prize consisting of a $500.00 gift certificate to Zia Guns was won by Dan Musgrave, WD8RMG.  The option to take cash money as opposed to the gift from Zia was offered, and Dan chose the cash instead.

On a different item, member Bob Tucker, KK5RT, was notified recently of a one day only deal at Home Depot.  A 3500 watt Sportman generator, normally $529.00, was being advertised for $249.00.  The 4000 watt peak machine runs on gasoline or propane.  Due to the limited availability at less than half the regular price, Bob purchased the unit with the intent of either donating the generator to the club or allowing the club to vote on whether or not to purchase it.  The attending members elected to purchase the unit by majority vote.

Additionally, it was noted that the Run at the Zoo scheduled in May has been cancelled, and the next scheduled run event would be the Alien Chase on Saturday, July the 4th pending further Coronavirus related restrictions.
