During the Yucca Two Meter Net on Sunday night, the subject of DMR simplex was brought up. With the recent addition of two DMR repeaters within reach of Roswell, many area hams have purchased DMR radios and hot spots, but just a few have utilized DMR on simplex. It was agreed that certain digital parameters would be considered the 'standard' for DMR hams in the Roswell area allowing for a common meeting place to carry on QSO's in the event of a repeater or network failure. The following settings should be programmed by any ham wishing to join in a Roswell area QSO and possible future DMR simplex net:
FREQUENCY TRANSMIT - 441.0000
FREQUENCY RECEIVE - 441.0000
TALKGROUP - 99
TIMESLOT - 1
COLOR CODE - 1
ADMIT CRITERIA - 'ALWAYS'
IN CALL CRITERIA - 'TXI' or 'ALWAYS'
Once you've programmed these settings into your code plug, give a call out. Try checking into the Yucca Two Meter Net to see if anyone else has programmed theirs yet so you can meet on the air. As more and more DMR users get on board, this should be a great place to meet for QSO's.
