Fox Hunt This Saturday
This Saturday, May the 15th, the PVARC will be conducting a 'fox hunt'. If you've never been a part of one of these events, it's really quite cool. Even if you're not a ham yet, but maybe considering it, this will be great time to come check it out as we develop our direction finding skills and just have fun. We'll meet at the PVARC headquarters at 403 N. Richardson in Roswell around 9:00 AM. Please note the following rules for the fox hunt.
FOX TRANSMITTER FREQUENCY 146.565 OR CROSSBAND REPEAT AT HIGHER POWER IF HAVING TROUBLE LOCATING FOX DIRECTION 446.400
Starting from PVARC Headquarters 9:30am
Will consist of a Starter, Fox and Hunters
Starter will start hunters 5 minutes apart and contact Fox with team number starting.
Fox will hide transmitter and record times
Hunters will search for transmitter
Teams of 2 Hunters each with receiver
Teams will start 5 minutes apart to avoid following
Starter will contact Fox with team number leaving. Fox will record time leaving and team number. Fox records time found and team number. Best time wins.
No hunting or direction finding before Starter sends you out.
Fox will not be hidden on private property. Do not enter private property looking for the Fox. You will be responsible for your own trespassing.
Fox will be within City limits.
