New Venue For February PVARC Business Meeting

Saturday, February the 4th marks the date for the next Pecos Valley Amateur Radio Club business meeting. This is a very special event as it will be the first one to be held in the club's future home at Eastern New Mexico University in Roswell. The meeting room will be in the Campus Union Building located at 48 University Blvd. which is on the southwest corner of University and Martin St. at the Roswell Industrial Air Center. Meeting start time will be 9:00 AM, but arriving early is advised. The 147.320 MHz repeater will serve as a talk-in frequency. There will be club members on hand to direct attendees toward the meeting room. Parking will be in the lot at the southwest corner of University and Martin.

Members of the PVARC met with Dr. Shawn Powell, President of Roswell's ENMU campus, to go over some more details concerning the club's needs for space to conduct scheduled and non-scheduled events as well as space for amateur radio equipment and antennas. A space in what what currently serves as a storage room will be the likely place for the club's radio operations. It is conveniently located just feet from an approximately 60 foot tower where various antennas will be mounted. Some administrative items are still in the works, but should be finalized soon.
